Welcome back! Hello, hello, hello, to everybody reading this blogpost. I am back with my updated TBR (to be read) list with some amazing titles that I’m sure you guys are going to want to read as well. Well, without futher ado, I’ll get on with the post!
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Yes! The best-seller that pretty much everybody has read or is dying to read it. I’m one of those dying to read it, obviously. Anyway, I’ve heard amazing things about this book, both about the characters and the plot, so I’m dying to get my hands on a copy. Also, the format is that of an interview/dialogue, instead of the conventional novel format which I think would be an interesting change for me as a reader.
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
As soon as I read the summary, I knew I wanted to read this book. The author essentially believes that plants and animals are humankind’s oldest teachers, so the book embodies that belief and also delves into the relationship between nature and humans. I’ve read from some reviews that this book is more of a memoir, which is a genre that I’m trying to get myself into! Overall, I just thought it would be really interesting to read about our natural world through the teachings and eyes of the Indigenous people.
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
This is a book that I’ve been wanting to read since I was in middle school! I just never got around to reading it, sadly. But, this year I’m making sure that nothing comes in between me and this book! Nothing!!!
On This Day in History by Dan Snow
I first heard about this book from a booktuber on YouTube and it sounded so interesting to me that I had to put it on my TBR list. It’s not your basic fiction book or anything, it starts from January 1st and ends on December 31st recounting key historic events that had happened on each day of the year. Isn’t it super interesting? I think it is, and I can’t wait to read it!
The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
Ah. Another book that’s been on my TBR list for ages. I will no longer tolerate anything that comes between me and this book, whether it be school work, school work, or school work. This novel is kind of (?) controversial because some Asians believed that Asian stereotypes were being perpetuated or that the embodiment of the Asian characters were completely distorted. I don’t have an opinion on this yet, because I obviously haven’t read the book, but maybe I’ll share my opinions on the controversies AFTER I finish reading the novel!
I think I’m going to stop the list right here. It would go on and on if I kept going because I seriously have a billion books that I want to read. I hope that this post has given you guys some recommendations!
